One of the services we provide is helping home sellers and real estate agents make homes more inviting and easier to sell by destroying off-putting odors. In this video, you can see the process of how we treat the air and surfaces to remove odors. The home in this video had a strong pet odor. It was removed over a period of days. Many home owners and real estate agents have used various methods to remove odors. Typically they use deep cleaning, carpet shampooing and ozone. Deep cleaning makes the home look great, and they may add fragrances to mask the odor, but it usually falls short of removing the odor. Carpet shampooing may remove some odor from carpets, but not from the paint, wood and other items that have absorbed the odor; wetting the carpet may also activate bacteria. Car dealerships and car repair businesses often have customers with vehicle odor issues. Sometimes it’s nicotine or week. Sometimes it’s pet odors. Often times, it can be due to water intrusion. New car manufacturers have company protocols for odor removal. These often relay on ozone and enzyme sprays. Ozone is toxic and is bad for employee health, it can damage sensors, electronics and fabrics. Enzyme sprays are tough to get onto all the surfaces and fabrics where odors reside; especially in the vent ducting. Sometimes, restoration companies are hired at very high cost ($2,500+). When inferior odor removal technology is used the customer endures additional down time. If it’s a warranty issue, the dealership may be stuck paying for rental cars, labor and other services.

Recently, a local car dealership service department had an SUV that had a bad mold smell that appeared whenever the A/C recirc vent was used. After trying ozone and enzymes without success, their next step was to disassemble the dashboard, remove and clean the ducting.

Awen Natural Air’s solution was to use Pyure Dynamic Protection technology. We modified our equipment with a flexible duct, placed near the recirc vent intake. After just four hours of treatment, with no labor, the mold odor was destroyed. The customer was happy. The dealership service department promptly asked to purchase equipment.
